Jonas Bonnetta
Port William Sound
Port William Sound is a recording studio and creative retreat located just outside of Mountain Grove. The initial recording space started as a place for owner, Jonas Bonnetta to record his own music for his band Evening Hymns. When musical friends came to visit, they too were inspired by the landscape and expressed an interest in recording there as well. The timing lined up, Jonas had a desire to travel less with his band, so opening up his space to others made a lot of sense.

How We Helped
Jonas reached out to Frontenac Business Services initially to inquire about programs and for support with his business plan. In just a year he had outgrown his space and knew there was demand to expand his production studio. Encouraged by the support he had received earlier from us, he reached out again, this time for financing help. The loan and Eastern Ontario Development Program funding allowed him to build a new studio that offers access to incredible equipment that could otherwise not have been afforded.

Today
The business is thriving and Jonas continues to fine “tune” things (no pun intended). The equipment he is able to offer is on par with studios in Toronto and Montreal. He even has outside producers coming from all over Canada and parts of the US to record in his studio. The cabin that had been used as the initial recording studio now serves as a place for the recording artists to stay.
