Meet our Makers with Frontenac Business Services and Community Partners
There are many advantages to living, working, and playing in a place as beautiful and varied as Frontenac County. The Frontenac Business Services (FBS), together with community partners, is coming together to highlight one amazing feature of Frontenac County: its people.
FBS partnered with the Kingston Frontenac Public Library and Suzy Lamont Photography to create a series of fantastic short films. The 6 week series features a variety of Frontenac musicians, artists, food producers and farmers. Join us on YouTube to Meet our Makers every Thursday starting July 22.
The series tells the stories of these local makers:
- Hugh Christopher Brown, musician, Wolfe Island Records
- Stefan Duerst, sculptor and studio owner, Godfrey
- Sven Schlegel, Mariclaro sustainable design company, Snow Rad Station
- Tammy Watson, Trillium and Maple Woods Handywoman Services, North Frontenac
- Debbie & Dave Fitzerman, David & Sons Fine Condiments, Perth Road
- Sarah Winney, Rise Farm, Central Frontenac
“We are delighted to support KFPL’s Meet the Maker project that showcases some wonderful makers in Frontenac,” said Anne Prichard, Executive Director, Frontenac Business Services. “There is a nice cross section of makers – musicians, artists, food producer and farmer – in this series.”
Partnering with Suzy Lamont Photography highlights yet another local maker. For over 17 years, Suzy has built her career out of cultivating vivid photos that incite connection and spark dialogue. Together, with her team, she has introduced video production to her already well established business, which viewers will enjoy through the Meet the Makers series.
“Creating the Meet the Makers videos for our team and I was not only a fun working experience but such a wonderful opportunity to meet the incredible talent we have in our community,” Lamont shared.
